    Both ends are smooth and rounded. The taper guides your gold post into place, then slides out from the front of your ear.

    2. Step 2: Start at the front. Gently pass the taper halfway through your piercing from the front of your ear.

    3. Step 3: Connect behind your ear. From behind, slide your gold flatback post onto the exposed tip of the taper. No twisting is needed.

    4. Step 4: Bring the post into place. Gently guide the gold post forward while drawing the taper out from the front of your ear.

    5. Step 5: Remove the taper. Hold the gold back in place behind your ear, then slide the taper completely out from the front.
